113th Congressional Leadership and the Judiciary

The new 113th Congress includes several changes to the jurisdiction and leadership in committees and subcommittees that handle Judiciary-related matters. Included are the following:

Senate Appropriations Committee

Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government
Jurisdiction: Includes appropriations for the Judiciary and General Services Administration and its Public Buildings Service.

Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works

Jurisdiction: Includes oversight of public buildings and improved grounds of the United States.

Jurisdiction: Federal court jurisdiction, administration and management; rules of evidence and procedure; creation of new courts and judgeships;  bankruptcy; legal reform and liability issues; local courts in territories and possessions.
